Our night was slow, but thats a good thing! She is fighting that g-tube like crazy. So every time she woke up she again gagged. Good news is we are seeing an end to the old sediment in her tummy (looks to be old blood according to the drs) and are now seeing clear. Once she woke up at 7 I explained to her that it has to stay in and we will work hard to make her feel better today. She has not gagged since, and has even taken a few sips of cold pedialyte. I spoke with the attending and told him I think she needs to eat because she is gagging herself and until she learns its ok she will continue. Otherwise it will have to come out because she is making herself sick and thats never good. He agreed and said he would get it cleared through the surgeon this morning and we could start with whatever she wanted because calorie counts are very important. She needs more! ;)
She was up about every 2 hours and that would last about 15 minutes. All in all it was more restful than the previous night! I am attaching a picture of her first thing this morning after we got cleaned up and freshened the bed. We added the pillow this morning so she is more comfortable. We have some visitors coming! YEAH!
