No more than 2 minutes after Tammy left, Grandma JuJu and Papa Joe came by for a visit! Faith didn't wake up too much this morning beyond the initial sitting up with Tammy and was very queasy. We did get some medicine for that and asked for some headache medicine. While the 3 of us visited Faith got the "Club Med" treatment and got some lotion rubbed on her legs and feet and tummy. That helped to relax her!
Not too long after they left we had the head nurse and Faith's nurse come in to hook up an ICP monitor. That's an intracranial pressure monitor. They are thinking that she may need more or less fluid drained which would explain the headaches and inability to stay awake for very long! They explained it to me, but I am not really sure of what happens when they have this data and how they will use it when they do not have a baseline of data when she had her shunt placed and it was draining properly. I am told this information will be collected overnight to try to get a baseline and then see if we need to readjust her drain levels. For now she is again asleep which is how she stays most of the time. :(
Her tummy is starting to make noises which means it looks like she may be closer to being able to eat! That's a good thing!!
More later as I know..... Vicky
